Our Services

  • A neurodevelopmental evaluation is a specialized assessment of infants, toddlers, and preschool aged children, aimed at assessing functioning across developmental domains. This evaluation integrates information from a variety of sources to determine how a child is progressing in several areas of development, including cognition, language, motor skills, attention, behavior, social functioning, and play skills. The comprehensive nature of such an evaluation provides diagnostic clarity (if applicable), determines areas of strength and weakness, and the potential need for developmental and/or neurological interventions, including planning for early intervention and school-related services.

  • A neuropsychological evaluation is a comprehensive assessment that integrates intellectual functioning, attention/executive functioning, academic achievement, learning and memory abilities, visual spatial skills, motor functioning, language abilities, social/emotional functioning, and adaptive functioning. Specific measures employed will vary depending on age, ability level, education level, history and referral question but often includes gathering collateral information across settings. The comprehensive nature of such an evaluation allows for more accurate diagnosis, determining areas of strength and weakness, and the need for academic, psychological, developmental, and/or neurological interventions.

  • A gifted evaluation may be requested for individuals when superior intellect (IQ>130) is suspected. There are many schools and academic programs that require official documentation of “gifted level” intelligence for admission and/or appropriate classification. A gifted evaluation will solely include measures of intellectual functioning and collateral data. However, IQ testing is almost always part of a neurodevelopmental and neuropsychological evaluation.

  • We are able to provide consultation to families who may not be ready to move forward with a full evaluation yet or have just had a recent evaluation that didn’t fully support their child. We are also available to consult with other professionals working with a child, as well as with teachers, counselors, and special educators.

We are available to attend individualized education program (IEP) meetings to assist a child's educational team in understanding our evaluation results, understanding recommendations for treatment/intervention, and implementing an effective and appropriate educational plan.

  • We take great pride in being able to follow children over time. Getting to know children and their families and forming long term relationships is truly the most rewarding part of our work. We are available to meet with families as needed following an evaluation to ensure that their child is receiving the appropriate services to make effective progress across developmental domains.
